Welcome Message from the Coordinator
Welcome to the Master of Business Administration in Total Quality Management. You are joining a programme built for managers who intend to lead the quality conversation in their organisations, not follow it.
The MBA-TQM trains scholar-practitioners. You will study quality management standards and practice at three levels at once, the personal, the organisational, and the business, and you will leave with the analytical command to apply them in any sector you choose. UPSA holds a partnership with the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI), United Kingdom, and your enrolment grants you student membership of the CQI from day one. Use it to read for a CQI certification alongside the degree and graduate with two credentials instead of one.
This is the first programme of its kind in Ghana. Our alumni hold senior positions in respected organisations in Ghana and across the world, and you step into that network the moment you matriculate. Your faculty bring strong academic and industry records, and your classmates will come from manufacturing, banking, healthcare, the public sector, telecoms, and the professions, which means the case discussions in this programme are as instructive as the lectures.
The guiding principle is service with excellence. Hold yourself to it here, and carry it into the work you do next.
Programme Philosophy
The MBA in Total Quality Management is a scholar-practitioner programme designed to build the competencies that drive organisational growth and competitiveness. The curriculum equips middle and senior managers in the public and private sectors with a working command of quality management standards, principles, practices, and applications grounded in real business contexts.
The structure and mode of delivery respond directly to the academic and professional needs of managers who intend to reshape the management culture of their organisations in line with international best practice. Students engage with the standards, philosophies, and tools of Total Quality Management and apply them to issues that determine competitive position. Core areas of concentration include Quality Management Systems, Quality System Audit, Managing Change and Continuous Improvement, Quality Strategy and Planning, Technology of Quality Management, and Quality Assurance and Risk Management.
