Welcome Message from the Programme Coordinator

Welcome to the Master of Business Administration in Leadership and Strategy at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA). It is a great honour to welcome you to a programme uniquely designed to develop the kind of visionary, ethically grounded leaders that Ghana and the wider world urgently need — professionals who can not only think strategically but lead transformational change across organisations and sectors.

Over two intensive years, you will master the core disciplines of business administration alongside deep specialisations in advanced leadership theory, strategic management, innovation, change management, and entrepreneurial leadership. You will learn through a combination of rigorous academic study, experiential case-based learning, and practitioner engagement — emerging ready to lead organisations through complexity, drive competitive strategy, and champion sustainable growth. We look forward to accompanying you on this journey, and I encourage you to make the most of every opportunity this programme has to offer.

Philosophy of the Programme

The MBA in Leadership and Strategy is built on the conviction that effective leadership and rigorous strategic thinking are the twin engines of organisational transformation. The programme is uniquely positioned in the Ghanaian higher education landscape as the only MBA that explicitly integrates leadership development with strategy — equipping graduates with both the personal and organisational competencies to drive sustainable competitive advantage.

The programme emphasises experiential learning, case studies, and a practical, coaching-based approach to developing professional skills. It responds directly to Ghana’s national development agenda, which demands human capital capable of driving accelerated growth across all sectors of the economy, improving corporate governance, promoting entrepreneurship and innovation, and addressing sustainability challenges such as climate change, poverty, and inequality. Graduates leave with the strategic acumen, cross-cultural communication skills, and ethical frameworks required to create value and lead responsibly in a globalised business environment.
