Philosophy of the Programme
The Master of Arts in Media and Digital Communication Management program seeks to develop graduates and professionals who are on the cutting edge of what is new and evolving, understand how consumers connect with companies online, and know what techniques to use to gain digital audiences and customers.
This graduate-level programme aims to prepare middle and upper-level management workers in both the commercial and public sectors of the economy to use technology, media, and digital communications to their clients’ benefit. The comprehensive and industry-relevant curriculum prepares and trains students to develop the practical skills necessary for media planning and management, strategic digital communication, and content management.
Graduates may pursue careers as corporate social media strategists, corporate graphic design managers, media consultants, digital media entrepreneurs, digital communication strategists, media content developers, and online video/audio editors.
Programme Objectives
The objectives of the Master of Arts in Media and Digital Communication Management programme are to:
• Equip students with philosophical and theoretical knowledge of the field of digital communication and media management.
• Train students in the techniques of authentic customer information sourcing and media management.
• Equip students with practical skills to enable them to use relevant computer software for digital communication research and others such as Adobe InDesign, Adobe InDesign and Angular for graphic designing and mobile development.
• Develop students’ digital media entrepreneurial capacity to enable them set up digital communication businesses.
• Equip students with advanced knowledge and skills in media theory, digital media technologies, communication strategies, and media production techniques.
Outcome of the Programme
• Equip students with knowledge and skills in digital media management.
• Ability to critically analyze and evaluate media content, digital communication platforms, and their impact on society.
• Train students in designing and implementing digital media campaigns, social media strategies, and online communication tools for websites.

Programme Coordinator’s Profile
Zillah Boye-Doe is a lecturer with the Department of Communication, Faculty of Information and Communications Studies at the University of Professional Studies, Accra. Preceding that, she served as a Graduate Assistant at the School of Graduate Studies, UPSA.
Miss Boye-Doe holds a Diploma and Bachelor of Arts Degree in Public Relations Management from the University of Professional Studies, Accra. She has additionally obtained a Master of Arts degree in Brands and Communications Management and an MPhil in Leadership, both from the same institution.
She teaches classes including public relations writing, business communication, and communication theories. Her research interests encompass digital communication, branding, organisational communication and leadership.
She is the Coordinator for the MA/M.Phil. in Media and Digital Communication Management, as well as the MSc. /MPhil in Information Systems programmes.
