Welcome to the School of Graduate Studies of the University of Professional Studies, Accra. The MA in Brands and Communications Management (MABCM) is a promising one-year programme within the Department of Marketing at the Faculty of Management Studies. The MABCM programme equips students with the skills to develop compelling brands and communications. Philosophy of the Programme

The programme philosophy is to provide students with practical ideas in branding, communication, and marketing management. In view of that, the programme aims, objectives, and structure reflect concepts, models, and theories in branding, communication, and marketing.

Programme Objectives

  • Provide students with knowledge of the role of brands and communications with a focus on the creation of strong brand equity.
  • Familiarize students with the key building tools for brand equity and effective communication of the brand.
  • Gain an understanding of the different approaches for measuring and managing brand equity and strategies for brand architecture design.
  •  Apply the knowledge in brands and communications to design effective brand messages.

Programme Learning Outcomes

  • Apply branding and communication principles to create and manage brand equity.
  • Leverage brand-building tools to develop effective communication campaigns.
  • Deploy the requisite tools to measure brand equity and design brand architecture
  • Creatively develop brand messages that resonate with the target market

Profile of Coordinator

Dr. Mrs. Linda Narh, a Chartered Marketer, is a senior lecturer at UPSA’s Faculty of Management Studies and a consultant. She earned her degree from KNUST, a postgraduate diploma from the UK Chartered Institute of Marketing, an MBA from Liverpool, and a PhD from the University of Ghana. With extensive experience in training, corporate branding, marketing, and communications, she also consults in the telecom, fintech, advertising, and media sectors. Her background includes work in advertising, media, telecom, and finance, and she has earned awards from CIMG and GITTA. Currently, she teaches marketing management and corporate communications at UPSA and coordinates various master’s and MBA programs. She is also a consultant and corporate trainer.
