CHARTERED INSTITUTE OF PROCUREMENT & SUPPLY (CIPS)
CIPS is the world’s largest professional body serving procurement and supply; a not-for-profit organisation that exists for the public. It has the largest membership of procurement and supply professionals in the world, covering all industries, sectors and job activities and a global community of over 200,000 in 160 countries.
The objective of CIPS Ghana is to impact positively on the Ghanaian economy through the application of CIPS standards in supply chain processes.
CIPS is dedicated to promoting best practices and provides a programme of continuous improvement in professional standards, raising awareness of the contribution Purchasing & Supply makes to Corporate, National and International prosperity.
Professionals who are involved in procurement and supply, and warehousing, and reside in Ghana are invited to join the CIPS Ghana branch.
Membership is open to all studying at various levels of the CIPS course, Associates and Full Members.
OVERVIEW OF CIPS QUALIFICATIONS
Throughout the world, CIPS qualifications are recognised as the drivers of leading-edge thinking and professionalism in procurement and supply. You can study CIPS qualifications at either Certificate, Advanced Certificate, Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Professional Diploma level.
CIPS Level 2: Certificate in Procurement and Supply Operations
The first of our three entry-level qualifications*.
Ideal if you’re just starting your career or if procurement and supply is part of your role. Also, for those with little or no business experience and aspiring to move into a career in procurement and supply.
If you are a manager in another profession, a business leader or an entrepreneur, this qualification will help you understand how procurement should function and its overall impact on your business success.
No formal entry requirements, join as a Student Member to get started on this qualification.
Based on the Tactical and Operational levels of CIPS Global Standard, you will come away with a clear knowledge and understanding of facts, procedures and processes related to procurement and supply. You will be able to effectively interpret information and ideas, and learn how to identify, gather and use relevant information.

CIPS Level 3: Advanced Certificate in Procurement and Supply Operations
The second of our three entry-level qualifications* will help you to prepare for a career in procurement and supply and progress onto the CIPS Level 4 Diploma in Procurement and Supply.
You have four core modules to complete then choose one elective module to make your learning pathway more relevant for you.
Based on the Tactical and Operational levels of CIPS Global Standard, you will learn how to apply factual, procedural and theoretical knowledge of procurement and supply. You will be able to complete tasks and address problems that are well-defined but may be complex and non-routine. You will understand what relevant information is required and how to interpret and review its effectiveness.
This level requires passes in Four (4) CORE units and One(1) Elective:

Upon successful completion of level 6, one will need to formally apply to be upgraded to MCIPS, or with an up-to-date CIPS Ethical Procurement and Supply certificate, you will be eligible to upgrade to MCIPS Chartered Procurement and Supply Professional. The next step is the CIPS Level 7 Executive Diploma in Procurement and Supply. A chartered professional with the Executive Diploma (ExDip) is likely to be in a procurement leadership role. They will have board-level influence and deliver innovative sourcing solutions across a diverse range of markets. ExDip offers a higher professional standard than MCIPS Chartered Professional, this is defined by the competencies of the Advanced Professional level of the Global Standard. Those with ExDip will have demonstrated excellence through a programme of learning or experience to the postgraduate degree level.
